CORROSION RESISTIVITY OF CONCRETE WITH BRICK POWDER

  • Original language description

Brick powder is an aluminosilicate material which can react with calcium hydroxide formed during hydration of cement in concrete. The concretes with brick powder were investigated with respect to their durability in corrosive environment. The tested samples were immersed into five solutions (distilled water, solutions of Na2SO4, MgCl2, NH4Cl, HCl, and in gaseous CO2) for the period of 60 days. Microstructure, porosity and mechanical properties were determined. The results of corrosion resistivity coefficients showed a very good resistance against corrosive environment.
