Artificial aggregate from the different types of fly ash
Original language description
Electricity production with solid fuels combustion is currently still one of the main sources of energy. But it is not only single product of these plants. There are formed also so-called energy by-products, which are often the high-quality substitutes source. Due to in progress or completed innovation of various energy equipment, is it obvious that the production decline of these potential raw material is not awaited. It is therefore appropriate to always seek new ways to use it in building materials. This paper deals with suitability verification of the energy by-products of selected producers to sintered artificial aggregates production. Results of laboratory tests show that the fluidized fly-ashes have a larger perspective for use in technology of artificial aggregate production with using the method of cold way of production. On the contrary, high-temperature fly-ashes can guarantee getting much better aggregate mass by using the method of sintering, thanks to higher percentage of glass phase and minimal percentage of CaO.
