  • Original language description

More than 60 percent of heat gains in solar houses are due to direct solar radiation while the remaining 40 percent are generated by electrical devices and by occupants themselves. In a particular room the power can rise up to thousands of watts. Do we know how to utilize such a high power? This contribution paper focuses on how a PCM heat storage system can impact on the utilization of internal gains in a particular room. To ensure that the system work properly, it is essential to suggest an appropriate PCM melting point, consider the quantity or capacity of a PCM material; design a heat exchange area and also the intensity of the heat exchange. The PCM heat storage systems enhance the quality of internal environment and enable significantly reduce the costs for cooling during the summer.
