The presented paper analyses the results of electrical impedance measurements in the silky-loamy-clay soils with the different moisture values. Electrical impedance was measured by a device called Z-meter. The measurements were carried out in the East Slovakian Lowland during 2011 vegetation period (VP). The basis for the analysis was the comparison between the electrical impedance measurements by TDR method (Time Domain Reflectometer). The aim of the research works was to analyse the soil moisture impact on the electrical impedance values measured by Z-meter. Following the analysis, the possibility of using the instrument for the soil water regime monitoring was assessed
