Original language description
Approaches in the stochastic optimization of the design of engineering structures are discussed in the presented article. Mention is made of the solution of structural problems with the aid of structural optimization techniques. Basic optimization stepsmost frequently used in the design of safe and cost efficient structures are listed. An integral part of the theoretical solution is experimental research, which enables us to obtain input random material and geometrical characteristics of structures. Results of the stochastic analysis provide insight and are utilizable in the analysis of limit states and the verification of the partial safety factors of EUROCODE standards.
