REVITALISATION OF AGEING PRE-FABRICATED PANEL HOUSING ESTATES
Original language description
In the Czech Republic and in other countries of Eastern Europe there is a problem of further existence of pre-fabricated panel housing estates. The buildings are getting older and they need necessary repairs because they are energy intensive. They also sometimes become a place of living of socially excluded people. Therefore, it is necessary to deal with a complete revitalisation of these housing estates. This article focuses on the issue of revitalisation of panel constructions and on the current stateof panel houses in the Czech Republic. The main part of this article describes the possibilities and extent of revitalisation of panel houses which are currently in the progress. It also proposes a solution for revitalisation of whole housing estates atlowest costs possible with the use of recycled materials obtained from disposal of abandoned and irreparable buildings.
