Acoustic Response of Timber Joist Ceilings onto Dynamic Loads.
Original language description
The article deals with some of the issues of timber joist ceilings found in both existing historical protected buildings and newly designed multi-storey timber based objects, in the fi eld of building acoustics. the problems regarding the acoustic parameters of these ceilings are based on the perception of the inhabitants of such objects, who do usually complain about the unmet acoustic conditions of indoors, observed mainly at low frequencies, even though the requirements given by the legislation are met. the paper with its content is a reaction to the contradiction between the results coming from measurements and from subjective perception, and is complemented by structural evaluations seeking the eff ects of dynamic tremors and vibrations. the described phenomenon are then demonstrated on an example, especially on measurements done on a timber joist ceiling in an apartment building in brno, whereas the expertise was amended by structural design against dynamic loads and monitoring o
