The Extent of Quantities for the Safety Assessment of Concrete Dams Determined Using Limit State Condition
Original language description
This paper describes the specification of the extent of measured quantities for dam safety assessment using limit state condition for individual types of potential dam failure. Firstly the scenarios were defined that involved global and local failures. For each failure type the limit state condition was defined and corresponding monitored quantities were determined. This method was applied in the assessment of the present extent of surveillance at the Kruzberk concrete gravity dam. Existing surveillance was compared with the range of quantities determined from limit state conditions. Finally, the modifications of technical surveillance were proposed.
