Thermo-remediation of wood is a non-destructive process of removal of wood-destroying insects using hot air. In this paper we describe the practical procedure of hot-air removal of wood- destroying insects, specifically the house longhorn beetle (Hylotrupes bajulus L.), whose activity has significantly damaged the wooden structural elements of the Spišská Kapitula, which is a technical monument. Based on visual inspection, insect attack was detected in the supporting wooden structures of the ceilings. These wooden elements and structures were subjected to thermal treatment.
