Probabilistic life-cycle assessment of civil engineering concrete structures
Original language description
Methods for fully probabilistic life-cycle assessment of concrete structures in civil engineering and transport infrastructures will be presented. It includes nonlinear computer simulation of structural resistance, advanced material and degradation modeling and efficient reliability techniques. The paper will be focused on probabilistic life-cycle assessment of concrete structures based on stochastic nonlinear finite element simulation. Efficient numerical techniques to determine reliability expressed by reliability index and failure probability within the framework of computationally intensive numerical analysis are employed; the life-cycle assessment is based on time-dependent reliability analysis including degradation effects. Models for concrete carbonation, corrosion of reinforcement and chloride ingress are elaborated and utilized.
