Impact of wastewater transport on its quality
Original language description
The objective of this paper is to characterize the quality of wastewater at the outlets of various sewerage systems, in particular, alternative drainage systems, where the characterization of wastewaters has so far been the most neglected aspect when designing these drainage systems. This paper compares wastewater at the outlet of gravity sanitary sewerage and pressure and vacuum sewerage. Monitoring wastewater from various sewerage systems shows significant differences in average concentrations of themonitored indicators of vacuum, pressure and gravity sewerage systems. The results of monitoring wastewater from the pressure and vacuum sewerage systems demonstrate higher pollution of raw wastewater. These are, in particular, those indicators that areinfluenced by redox processes in sewerage systems, i.e. BOD5, COD and N-NH4.
