Different Options for Foundations of Buildings in Thermal and Financial Context
Original language description
Great emphasis is placed nowadays not only on the quality of the building envelope, but also the financial costs associated with this solution. One of the places that have an impact on the quality design of the building envelope is the connection of thebuilding to the foundation structure. There are many variants that can be used in addressing this structural detail. This article describes the most common variants used for building facilities based on the foundation strips. These variants are supplemented with their financial evaluation. The study was conducted on an idealized facility with ground plant dimensions of 10.9 m x 10.2 m. The masonry was considered to be built to a height of 1 m above the base concrete slab. Individual variants are mutually compared in thermal and technical terms using the linear thermal transmittance coefficient determined in accordance with CSN EN ISO 10 211 [1] a CSN EN ISO 13 370 [2], but also from the economic point of view.
