THE DEFECT ANALYSIS OF A REINFORCED CONCRETE TURBO MACHINERY SUPPORT IN A HEATING PLANT OLOMOUC
Original language description
The paper describes the defect analysis of one of the reinforced concrete supports of turbo machinery 41 MW in a Heating plant in Olomouc (the Czech Republic). The cracks that would shorten the service life of the structure were detected in the support. The turbo machinery is anchored to a 2 m thick reinforced concrete slab. The slab is supported by supporting reinforced concrete elements using six GERB springs. The paper summarizes the results of the defect analysis, the defect monitoring, the processof finding the cause of cracks formation and the designed modifications. The causes of the defect were analysed by ATENA software which simulates the real behaviour of reinforced concrete structures including concrete cracking, crushing and reinforcementyielding. In order to avoid the defect, it was decided to move one of the springs. In relation to the designed modification, the change of the natural frequency of the structure was analysed.
