Comparison of Design Methods for Composite Slabs Using Small-scale Shear Tests
Original language description
Design methods for composite slabs still require full-scale bending tests which are expensive and space demanding. Alternatively small-scale shear tests can be used to obtain shear characteristic of the connection. Three of the methods which are using small-scale shear tests are presented and compared in this paper: slip-bloct test, new simplified method and built-up bars method. Small-scale shear tests performed in laboratory are used to calculate bending resistance using these methods. The resulting resistance is compared with previously performed four-point bending tests.
