Building Information Modeling in Life Cycle Cost Analysis ? Application of Innovative Technologies for Building modernization
Original language description
This paper presents application of innovative technologies such as laser scanning and building information modelling for building modernization. Authors intention was to present and discuss some possibilities and advantages of the use of such technologies on the example of thermo-modernization of an existing building. The background for the mentioned considerations is the brief introduction of whole life costing and life cycle costing issues. Some specifics of life cycle costing and cost analyzes of modernization of existing buildings are explained. Both laser scanning and building information modelling may be an interesting and promising option for gathering data for construction cost analyzes. The pair of these innovative technologies seems to be especially applicable in case of existing buildings and attempts of life cycle costing of such facilities.
