Optimization of a tunnel lining reinforced with FRP
Original language description
This contribution describes the formulation of deterministic based structural optimization design of a tunnel lining. The target function is defined as the minimum cost of used materials. FRP reinforcing bars will be used as reinforcement. The thickness of the tunnel lining and the areas of top and bottom reinforcement in cross-sections will be optimized. The obtained results will be compared with an optimized design created for the same tunnel structure but made from steel-reinforced concrete.
