The monitoring of sanitation of the process of sewage sludge composting in the conditions of an agricultural enterprise
Original language description
One of the methods of the use of sludge defined by course of Act No. 185/2001 Coll. on wastes is its application to agricultural land. The fertilising value of sludge is used and the nutrients and organic substances are recycled there (sludge is a source of humified organic substances and nutrients). Stabilised drained sewage sludge, therefore, constitutes a suitable type of fertiliser for agricultural land. The main limiting factor for the application of sludge to agriculture is the content of foreign substances (particularly heavy metals) in sludge and the presence of pathogenic microorganisms. According to Regulation No. 382/2001 Coll. on conditions of the use of treated sludge on agricultural land, the producer of sludge must prepare a programme for the use of sludge for agricultural land and document in it that it has fulfilled the conditions stipulated in the legislation. This paper presents an intention to apply the method of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS) in monitoring the sanitation of the process of sewage sludge composting in the conditions of an agricultural enterprise.
