Durability testing of cement matrices for neutralization sludge disposing

  • Original language description

The paper deals with hazardous waste – neutralization sludges from physico/chemical treatment containing hazardous substances – solidification/stabilisation and with verification of this product treatment properties in terms of durability. This stated waste is generated during the production of steel galvanized wires in neutralization station which serves for optimization of sewage waters pH value. For solidification/stabilisation of chosen waste different types of cement matrices were designed with use of other solidifying admixtures - the fluid fly ash, classic fly ash and special sorbents were selected. This paper describes results of durability tests of treatment products those consists of especially water leaching tests and strength tests - the static leaching test and the compressive strength test are considered to be the most important and confirming tests for verification of durability of proposed matrices. These tests were applied to all the specimens according to proposed methodology in the first interval after 28-day hardening and then after 180-day hardening. Based on the laboratory tests results the paper evaluates suitability of tested matrices for the chosen waste type treatment.
