Mechanical Fracture Parameters of Concrete Specimens from One-Side-Heated Panels
Original language description
This study deals with the characterization of fire damaged concrete panels. The attention is paid to determination of selected mechanical fracture parameters via evaluation of fracture tests of specimens from the concrete panels after their exposure to elevated temperatures. Experimental panels were heated according to the dynamic temperature-time curve ISO 834 (given by EN 1991-1-2.2010) with a subsequent maintained maximum nominal temperature 550, 600, 800 and 1000 °C for 60 minutes. Test specimens were obtained by cutting out from concrete panels after performing fire tests and provided with initial central edge notch. These specimens were tested in three-point bending test and loaded under displacement control. The load versus displacement and load versus crack mouth opening displacement diagrams were obtained and selected fracture parameters were subsequently evaluated: modulus of elasticity, effective crack elongation, effective fracture toughness and specific fracture energy.
