    Cableways are usually used in mountain areas for transportation of goods and people. A cableway and all its components shall be dimensioned, designed and constructed to withstand, with a sufficient degree of safety, all stresses encountered under all foreseeable conditions, including those which occur when not in operation, taking account in particular of outside influences including dynamic effects. This paper presents an approach to the calculation of a pulley-cable system often used in cableway structures using a special pulley element in the finite element method, this element is then used in dynamic simulation of a cableway in RFEM program.
