Review of the possibilities of determining the modulus of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio in the early stage of cement composite ageing
Original language description
In the practice of civil engineering, there are several cases when it is necessary to know the value or development of the modulus of elasticity in the early age of setting of cement based composites. Typical examples are pre-stressed structures and structures that are at risk of excessive deformation due to an early removal of formwork and the need to continue the construction. This article is a review of the ways how to measure the modulus of elasticity and describes the methods of determining its value in a very early stage of setting and hardening. The article also deals with an analysis of the determination of the value and development of Poisson’s ratio, which is closely related to the development of the modulus of elasticity.
