Theoretical model for refining flood economic loss modelling on buildings
Original language description
This paper focuses on the evaluation of flood losses to buildings. More specifically, it analyses the impact of the side ratio of the flooded room and its overall surface area on the accuracy of loss evaluation. It presents the basics of a theoretical mathematical model, which has been calibrated and verified using genetic programming tools and which makes it possible to achieve a relatively high accuracy in loss evaluation. The error variance found during the modelling of losses was <-1%; 2%>. The suggested basic version of the model can be further developed in the future to allow for more comprehensive use.
