STUDY OF THERMAL INSULATING PROPERTIES OF INSULATORS BASED ON BY-PRODUCTS UNDER VACUUM
Original language description
In building materials, under reduced pressure, a significant improvement in thermal insulation properties occurs due to the elimination of conduction and flow through the gas phase filling the pore system of insulators (in case of the most insulators). This effect is used in the manufacture of vacuum insulating panels. In earlier times, vacuum insulating panels have only been produced with glass wool or SiO2 based insulators, but alternative insulating panels have also begun in recent years. These insulators are then more environmentally friendly and are also generally more affordable. The paper describes the research results in the field of studying the behavior of insulators on the basis of secondary raw materials under reduced pressure till vacuum and their possibilities for use in the manufacture of vacuum insulating panels. These are mainly secondary raw materials from agriculture and the textile industry. In the framework of the research it was verified the possible utilization of waste fibers arising from the pulping of textile and agricultural crops for the production of thermally bonded insulators, and then study of their key properties in dependence on pressure.
