Impact of Technological Indiscipline on Failure Rate of Adhesive Joints

  • Original language description

Structural adhesives play an irreplaceable role in construction industry. It is often necessary to precisely follow the instructions of the given manufacturer during the installation. Non-observance of even one of the rules can lead to the decrease in strength rate of the adhesively bonded joint. However, in building practice, respecting instructions is very vague. This approach could lead to the adhesively bonded joint failure. To determine the importance of this risk, five types of technological indiscipline and their combinations were tested. There was a total of 31 sets of combined technological indiscipline types. Adhesive system intended for façade application was chosen for the research purpose. The impact of technological indiscipline was assessed in combination with two cladding materials, sintered ceramic tile cladding and thermally modified wood. The research of the impact of technological indiscipline was divided into two phases. In the 1st phase, a variant with ceramic tile façade claddin
