LONG-TIME CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF THE EARTH DAM KAROLINKA BY EIS METHOD
Original language description
The long-time monitoring of electrical properties of the earth dam Karolinka by Electrical Impedance Spectrometry (EIS) method started at the year 2011. This method, in which a sinusoidal test voltage or current is applied to the sample under test to measure its electrical impedance over a suitable frequency range, is a powerful technique to investigate the electrical properties of a large variety of materials. In this case the porous material is soil with different structure (especially grain size) and water content (soil moisture). The paper provides brief information about the results of long-time measurement by applying electrical impedance using the Z-meter device and with other standard geophysical methods. Shortly the correlation with seepage monitoring is shown.
