The effect of air flow on the annual energy balance of a facade with a ventilated gap
Original language description
In the form of a poster, the authors present the current results of joint research in the field of air flow through a facade with a ventilated gap and its effect on the year-round heat balance of this facade. They introduce the public to the idea of influencing the air flow in the ventilated gap of the facade, the subsequent results from the developed special FSVM software show the advantages of closing the air gap in the winter and transitional period of the year. This technical knowledge has a high potential for energy savings for heating buildings. As calculations show, controlling the air flow through a ventilated facade reduces heat loss in winter by up to 40%, depending on the month, a possible increase in air flow in summer, e.g. by means of forced convection through a gap, can significantly reduce heat gain.
