    The created functional sample represents a datalogger designed for collecting and storing analogue data from sensors with voltage output. It is designed as a device that independently collects measured data. By its nature, it is designed for both short-term and long-term measurements, storing and transmitting the measured data to a higher-level system. The developed datalogger is designed specifically for the needs of measurements on railway superstructure. It has the ability to record up to 12 analogue quantities in the form of electrical voltages in the range of 0 to 5 V. Primarily vibration, noise, deformation, displacement are to be recorded. The quantities are continuously stored on an SD card. The data logger is equipped with a touch screen for operation. It also has configuration options via wifi.

    The great advantage of this solution is the low cost and simple hardware solution, as well as the economical operation of the sensing unit. Under certain circumstances (with a suitable number and length of measured events per day), according to a preliminary calculation, it allows battery operation for a longer period of time, up to several days. Another advantage is the possibility of maintenance-free and automatic operation in the track. It should be noted that the presented solution supports advanced power energy management. In addition to the built-in battery, other sources such as a solar panel can be used to power the device.

  • Economical parameters

    Designed datalogger focused on measurements on the railway superstructure provides the possibility to measure and study vibration phenomena on railway superstructure. The knowledge of the phenomena occurring on the railway superstructure enables optimal maintenance of railway lines and the design of appropriate anti-vibration measures. At present, the economic benefits cannot be evaluated. On the other hand, it allows, at a very affordable price, to be used also in the context of teaching and final theses of students.
