Original language description
The aim of the study is to evaluate the physical and hydraulic performance of green roofs with organic additives such as sewage sludge, biochar and compost and to optimise their ability to manage rainwater. To achieve these objectives, six experimental modules containing standard growing media and recycled materials were built. As green roof substrates are predominantly mineral based with minimal organic matter, the addition of organic additives could provide better water retention and improve conditions for plants.
