COMPUTATIONAL MODELLING OF STRESS AND STRAIN STATES IN ARTERY WALLS USING FEM
Original language description
Computational modelling of stress and strain states in artery walls is realized on an example of aorta, modelled as a cylindric body, consisting of one or two homogeneous coaxial layers with constant thickness, and showing finite distortions un The material of each layer is modelled as an isotropic non-linear elastic continuum with a negligible compressibility. The model solved using Finite Element Method is loaded, in addition to the blood pressure, by axial prestretch according to conditions in a human body, and includes residual stresses, as well.
