CONSTITUTIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF RUBBER AT NORMAL, HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES
Original language description
The paper deals with measuring of stress-strain curves of rubbers. As the computational modelling of stress-strain states in these materials was not realizable till the last decade because of their large distortions, many producers and users do not knowtheir material properties in a sufficient range. Because of their non-linear behaviour it is not sufficient to evaluate the usual elastic constants but the stress-strain curves have to be measured for the whole range of strains expected in computationallmodelling. It is necessary to measure these curves in tension, compression and torsion to achieve credible results of computational modelling. Various definitions of stress and strain tensors in the case of large strains have to be distinguished when describing and using these curves. The results of these tests realized at various temperatures are presented and analysed in the paper, namely for several types of rubbers used in production of tyres.
