Detailed experimental research has been carried out on the draft tube flow. Model of the Francis pump-turbine was equipped with the transparent draft tube. The flow investigation has been focused especially on the turbine operating at partial load operation, when so-called vortex rope is formed. However, also others turbine regimes have been investigated in order to comprehend whole operation range of the turbine.
