Using the Die-Casting and Squeeze-Casting Technologies to Produce Castings for Automotive Industry
Original language description
To evaluate the properties of die casting and squeeze casting, a set of mechanical, structural and stress property examinations were selected, namely tensile strength, hardness, velocity of longitudinal ultrasound waves for the determination of E-modulus, microporosity, porosity, specif mass, microstructure, makrostructure, blistering and residual stress. Based on the processing of these data, the advantages and disadvantages of the two types of casting were assessed for the case of castings for automottive industry.
