As developments throught the world show, using mobile robots and autonomous locomotion robots with certain degree of autonomous behaviour at work station and manufacturing systems can be advantageous. As a result, developmentand manufacture of another generation of the VUTBOT robot family has commenced, the robots being and combination both of newly-developed, manufactured and generally available construction elements (components), functional blocks and assembl˙ units, acting as an open multi-functionall and variable system. A concept of the control system of a real mobile robot has been prepared as developmnet of the adopted locomotion apparatus concept.
