This paper presents results obtained using optimized Vacuum Induction Melting and investment casting of TiAl alloys. An analytical study of interfacial reactions between the TiAl melt and ceramic crucibles provided data on the mechanism by means of whichthe ceramic particles contaminate the final castings.
