In the current period of globalization, the knowledge of foreign languages has become so important as it has never been before. According to new Education Act teaching foreign languages should abide by the Common European Framework for languages. Russianas a foreign language has already come across the barrier of prejudice and a lack of interest and the number of people learning Russian is growing - of course in the new circumstances. Objectives, possibilities, and means that are available at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are the subjects of our paper.

V současné epoše globalizujícího se světa má znalost cizích jazyků význam, jaký doposud historie nezaznamenala. Výuka cizích jazyků by se měla podle nového školského zákona řídit Společným evropským referenčním rámcem pro jazyky. Ruština jako cizí jazykv současnosti již překonala bariéru předsudků a nezájmu a zájemců o její studium přibývá - ovšem v nových podmínkách. Jaké jsou cíle, jaké máme možnosti a prostředky jejich dosažení v konkrétních podmínkách na Fakultě strojního inženýrství Vysokého učenítechnického v Brně je obsahem našeho příspěvku.
