High-resolution Colorimetry of the Solar Corona

  • Original language description

Nowadays, high resolution CCD or CMOS chips allow colorimetric analyzes of the solar corona during total eclipses. Even though the color separation by Bayer-matrix filters used in digital cameras is not highly selective, precise color calibration enablesto separate radiation of the most prominent coronal emission line in the visible part of the spectrum, Fe XIV. Extremely narrow-band filters enable to separate the emission line much better, but it is not possible to obtain very high spatial resolutionand signal to noise ratio because of the low intensity of the light. Colorimetric analysis based on data obtained during total solar eclipse on August 1, 2008 are presented in this contribution. The resulting images are nowadays the best images showing the fine structures and the Fe XIV distribution in the inner corona. These images enable to study fine coronal structures in resolution of about 2 arcsec per pixel. The colorimetric analysis enables to study radiation of K-corona, F-corona
