Numerical And Experimental Evaluation Of Lubricant Film Thickness And Contact Pressure in EHL Contact of Dented Surfaces
Original language description
Presented paper is focused on the simulation of parameters in contact of non-smooth surfaces of machine parts. Investigated parameters are lubricant film thickness and contact pressure distribution. Elastohydrodynamic lubrication is typical for most highly loaded machine parts. The objective of the presented research is to clarify processes in non-conformal contact of machine parts with dented surfaces, and to find out the influence of micro-dents on lubricant film formation, distribution of film thickness and contact pressure using numerical algorithms and experimental measurements. Lubricant film thickness within EHL contact of dented surfaces was measured for several operating conditions using thin film colorimetric interferometry. The contact pressure distribution was obtained from measured film thickness using numerical convolution algorithms. These experimental results will be compared with numerical results using multilevel methods. The knowledge of the influence of dents on tri
