Applications of selected NDT procedures for more detailed identification of crack initiation stage at fatigue tests of aluminium alloys
Original language description
The paper describes some basic results of AlMg alloy (EN-AW-6082) behaviour change during high cycle fatigue loading which were detected using AE method and analysis of load frequency changes of the electromagnetic loading device. These procedures allowbasic identification of different stages of fatigue process. The main attention is targeted on more exact identification of the first stage of fatigue cracks propagation. AE signal plots obtained with use of the newly developed AE analyser device calledDAKEL IPL are commented in detail. This apparatus allows for continual recording and processing of data from the acoustic emission sensors. Compared to the up to date commonly used AE analyser devices, the major advantage of this type of analyser is thatit is capable of continually sampling and storing the whole AE signal for as long as there is space to store it.
