    Desing of Synchronous Generator Water Cooling Using Cumputational Fluid Dynamics

    This paper is concerned with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation of water cooling of synchronous machine. The qualities of both the common air cooling and the water cooling are discussed here. The CFD model of water cooling was created. This model considers the direct cooling of stator by means help of pipes with flowing water. These straight pipes are placed into groves on the outside wall of stator packet. The results of CFD simulations were obtained by the software Fluent and the resulted temperature field was compared with results of air cooling.
