Assessment of crack behaviour in a polymer pipe weld
Original language description
This paper is focused on numerical estimation of a crack behaviour influenced by presence of geometrical and material inhomogeneity induced by a butt weld. The three-dimensional finite element model of cracked pipe weld has been developed in which the crack initiates in the region influenced by butt-welding process. The material inhomogenity is taken into account as well as the weld bead geometry. Presented paper can be helpful for assessment of fracture behaviour of polymer pipe systems.
