    Software TRNSYS Type253 solves 1D unsteady heat transfer in the layer of a given thickness made of the phase change material (PCM) with given properties in the simulation software TRNSYS. Module Type253 solves heat transfer of the conduction in the PCM layer with the use of the control volume method. Heat transfer on both the surfaces of the PCM layer can be specified by the convection mechanism (with the use of the heat transfer coefficient and of the temperature of the ambient fluid) and/or by the prescribed heat flux. The solution provided by Type253 contains the time-dependent temperatures on both the surfaces of the PCM layer. The effective heat capacity method is used for the phase change modelling.
