COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT APPROACHS TO MODEL TRABECULAR AND COMPACT BONE IN LONG BONES
Original language description
The contribution presents the context of the need to address biomechanical problems in human society. Some hip joint dysfunctions are solved by replacing the bone contact surfaces with implants (TEP, hip resurfacing, Proxima DePuy). With the aid of computer modeling, we can predict the behavior of implants in the human body with a certain degree of simplification. Especially the model of material plays big role in these simulations. Our comparative analysis is aimed on the different approach to simulatethe material used in finite element model additionally with experimental verification. We used computer tomography to get the material data from tested bone. Because of the experimental device prototype and easier manipulation (also less biohazard) we used dried bone. Measured response variables were strain on the bone surface.
