Exchange of incineration unit by catalytic oxidation unit for VOC removal
Original language description
Disposal of waste gases alongside with disposal of solid and liquid wastes belongs to the most important activities that contribute to environmental protection. Gaseous wastes are produced mainly by industrial activities. If their production cannot be reduced, series of measures that ensure fulfillment of national and international limits must be taken. Currently, the tightening of emission limits increases pressure to reduce emissions of primarily volatile organic compounds (VOCs).The consequence of these emissions is a share to the "greenhouse effect," which causes warming of our planet and formation of the "ozone hole". It has a direct negative impact on humans and other living organisms, because it allows the penetration of dangerous radiation to the surface of the planet. VOC emissions occur mainly in industry processing the organic material, e.g. various chemical solvents, fuels, cleaning agents, paints and others. Such case is a chemical manufacturing company Momentive Specialty
