This paper describes the experience with the combustion of a gaseous fuel that contains the ammonia in the low concentrations as one of its components. The main aim of the research was to study the influence of 0?1.8 vol. % ammonia concentration in the fuel on the formation of NOx. Two types of burners were investigated. Based on the balance recalculation it was revealed that 25 % and 15 % of the chemically bound nitrogen in the ammonia is oxidized to nitrogen monoxide when the premixed air-staged burner and the non-premixed fuel-staged burner were used, respectively.
