Initial Investigation of GDOP Estimation from GPS Almanacs
Original language description
The work concerns of initial investigation of estimation of GPS position error due to configuration of satellites. GPS Technology operates the way that ICAO requirements may or may not be fulfilled depending on time and place. The modeling is developed based on data from GPS almanacs only, i.e. it does not depend on actual GPS receiver measurements. Theoretical background is introduced for error estimation due to configuration of satellite positions, presented mathematical equations were implemented into corresponding computer software. There is a plan to further extend the software package, so that the model will either be more precise (improvement of evaluation of satellite visibility, statistical correlations with real data) or extend (futher navigational systems ? GLONASS, Galileo, all the precise approach categories).
