The article presents the results from a statistical analysis of chemical composition of PM1 aerosols using factor analysis. The method for factors extraction used in the statistical analysis is described. The interpretation of common factors and the determination of aerosols emission sources are discussed. Five and six main emission sources were determined in Brno and Šlapanice, respectively.
