Maximum output power of the flue gas thermoelectric generator utilizing the waste heat from a small-scale biomass boiler
Original language description
The objective of the presented work is to find the maximum allowable output power of the thermoelectric generator utilizing the waste heat from a small-scale biomass boiler. Thermoelectric power conversion enables generation of electric energy from low-temperature waste heat sources. The thermoelectric generator represents an independent source of electricity and can deliver auxiliary power for self-sufficient operation of subcomponents of the automated boiler or heating system, e.g., to supply circulating pump or air fan. The performance of the generator however depends on many factors such as the composition of selected fuel, the fuel flux, the excess air, the cooling water temperature and also the chimney design. It is necessary to recover the allowable waste heat output of the boiler without dropping the flue gas temperature below the condensation point, otherwise there would be low-temperature corrosion and damage of the flue gas duct. The performance of the generator as well as t
