Original language description

Mechanical properties of cold sprayed free standing parts were evaluated. For the purpose, thick coatings of base metals (Al, Cu, Ni, Ti) were deposited using high-pressure cold spray technology and wire cutting was employed to fabricate miniaturized tensile test and four-point bending test specimens. The tests have revealed a brittle behavior of all materials with depleted reserves of plasticity. The elastic moduli of the coatings reached the theoretical bulk values. Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy was implemented to assess different material constants.
