IMPACT OF CONVECTIVE PLUME AROUND HUMAN BODY ON TEQ MEASURED BY EQUIVALENT TEMPERATURE SENSORS
Original language description
Equivalent temperature method in combination with Comfort zone diagram is relatively new and fast developing method for thermal comfort evaluation. Some measurement systems are based on small sensors which are fasten on the surface of a dummy or the realtest person. The main problem in the cases when the sensors are used on the surface of real person is metabolic heat which generates convective plume around body. The authors refer about tests in the car cabin investigating the effect of convective plume on equivalent temperature measured by the sensors. Newton thermal manikin was used as generator of convective plume and also as the holder of the sensors. Dressman system was used for processing and logging of Teq from the sensors. It was concluded hatconvective plume directly influences equivalent temperature measured by Dressman sensors and the degree of influence depends on air speed in vicinity of the manikin.
