    The chapter deals with machining centers with unconventional kinematic structure. The classic kinematics of the motion axes at machine tools consists of the chain of the motion axes linked to each other. The machines with the unconventional kinematic structure have such designs, where the tool motion or the workpiece motion is induced by the mechanisms arranged in the parallel way which form the supporting structure at the same time ? they form the whole frame or its parts. There are many concepts of the machines with the non standard layout of the drives and supporting structures available which this section will deal with.
